Sam Redfern Green, Hyde

This is a large open space in Gee Cross, Hyde. It is used regularly for fetes and the local people but the Friends of Sam Redfern Green wanted more!! Proffitts worked with the group, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council to design, tender, project manage and contract manage the works. The result? A new toddler play facility which incorporates both natural and traditional play, and a wide access path perfect for large scale events. The local children were also instrumental in helping design the thermoplastic motifs for the tarmac access path as well as planting wildflower plants at the opening event in September 2012. It is now a very well used play area that caters for all the community.
