St Anne’s with St James Improvements, Turton

It’s always nice to receive good feedback from the the community teams we work with. Thanks to the team at St. Anne’s PCC for their comments below:

”Proffitts have worked alongside St Anne’s PCC for the past year to assist in the process of obtaining a substantial grant to fund key elements that need repair/refurbishment in our church. We have been enormously impressed with Proffitts enthusiasm on this project, and without their guidance we would not have obtained grant funds. We always found Proffitts to be extremely courteous and polite; quick to reply and politely persistent in chasing us to do what was needed. We look forward to taking this project forward in the next few months and would recommend the services of Proffitts to any organization who are looking to raise funds from external sources.”

Just an update to let you all know that the funding for this work has now been secured. It was lovely to work with such a wonderful team on a great project, and we look forward to visiting again when the refurbishments have been completed 🙂

Just a reminder that there is still time to complete the survey to let us know exactly what improvements you would like to see take place at St. Anne’s with St. James. You can click the link here to get started: St. Anne’s with St. James Survey

The survey only takes a couple of minutes to complete, but your feedback is really important to us. Thanks so much for your time.

It’s time to find out which improvements you would most like to see take place at St. Anne’s with St. James. If you could take the time to complete the short survey then we can get a good idea of which areas are most important to users and find out if there’s anything else that we need to consider before finalising any plans.

Most people prefer anonymity so we don’t ask for your name and address etc but it would be useful if you give your email so we can keep you up to date on progress.  It will be used for the purpose of this project only, and will never be shared with a third party.

We are delighted to announce that we will be working in partnership with the parish of St Anne’s and St James to help upgrade and improve aspects of the church itself and the grounds. Over the course of 2021 and 2022 we will be working with local people, users, visitors and the congregation to make much needed improvements which will allow the church building to stay open for use, especially in the winter months. The improvements we will be concentrating on are the following priorities that have been identified:

  • Replacement of the old boiler and heating system, parts for which are becoming harder and harder to source for repairs
  • Replacement of the failed mechanism in the clock tower
  • Repair to the Lych Gates that are currently rotting
  • Repair some of the stained glass windows

Some informal consultation has been carried out with the congregation and other users of the church. We will be launching some wider consultation in the coming weeks which will capture what local people, visitors, users of the church and the congregation alike would like to see in the suggested improvements and will demonstrate the support for this stunning landmark on the edges of the West Pennine Moors. Please look out for the consultation opportunity and please pledge your support by giving your feedback and sharing with your contacts through social media.
