Another beautiful day at Stubbylee Community Greenhouses, Bacup for the Build & Grow project where more garden planters are in the making. Today the group demonstrated their skills at measuring and cutting timber followed by sanding and smoothing the wood ready for construction.  Demonstrating safe practice Personal Protective clothing (PPE) was worn when applying the wood preserve. http://stubbyleecg.org/ http://www.eastlancsccg.nhs.uk/ http://www.bprcvs.co.uk/

The sun was shining today at Stubbylee Community Greenhouses and the Build & Grow project is moving on nicely. The group have made good progress in their first AQA unit award of Constructing wooden garden planters. The planters are almost finished and the wood is being treated. Don’t they look great? The next stage in the project is to fill the planters with soil and prepare them for planting.  The project is funded by a Social Prescribing grant from the NHS East Lancashire Clinical Commission Group and administered by Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service. The AQA Unit Award Scheme is administered by Young Lancashire
