Following the consultation, the plan for Worsley Park has been updated. You can see a new copy of the plan below, and you can click here to see the image in a larger view: Worsley Park Masterplan v1

As mentioned previously, the improvement works will be tackled in phases:

The focus for phase 1 will be upgrading the play area by making the space more accessible, installing new accessible play equipment, and improving pathways and surfacing. The creation of a new, natural, play space and decorative planting will also take place during this phase. Work to improve access to the bowling green will also start.

Work in phase 2 will include adding more seating around the park and in the bowling green area too. Flood prevention works, refurbishment of the tennis courts, entrance improvements and the creation of a growing area with edible herbs, veg and fruits will also be included. Work on the wildflower meadow will start, but this will be fully completed during phase 3.

The outdoor gym, and an access ramp at the entrance will also be added during phase 3, and the Pavilion will be renovated to provide a space for community events and activities.

Work to upgrade pathways and woodland management work to improve the biodiversity in the park will take place during all three phases.

This is a long-term plan for Worsley Park and, now that we have a plan, the fundraising work can begin. This isn’t a quick process, but we will keep you updated on the progress of funding applications here – so do keep checking back for updates.
