Proffitts has been successful in gaining a number of commissions over the last few months, this has helped us continue our work with young people from Rossendale involving wheeled sports as well as two new ventures working in Whitworth and Brittiania.
The Whitworth Intergenerational project funded through Rossendales Childrens Trust and working in partnership with Greenvale Homes, Rossendale Borough Council and Young People Services. The project is based around creating a timeline / art installation based on young people’s life experiences in Whitworth from the 1940’s to the present day. Workers will be working with Residents from Greenvale’s Masseycroft flats and young people from the 515 youth centre.
Lancashire county council’s targeted youth support -Proffitts recently received the news that we have been successful in obtaining funding to work with a core group of 8 young people from around Rossendale who have been identified as NEET. After the young people have received initial training in First aid, team work and risk assessments they will then organise and deliver a number of trips to local in door skate parks around the northwest for their peers.
Brittiania sustainability grant.
Through accessing this funding we are now looking forward to continuing are work with the Britannia Residents United assisting them in bringing new members to the group by providing training to enable them to meet the requirements needed to access future funding.
This training in first aid, child protection and risk assessment will be open to new and existing members of the group. The group will then be able to put their new skills into practice by organising a number of activities for children and young people from Britannia associated with the new Multi Games Area.
If you need any more information regarding the above projects or think we may be able to assist you or your group in delivering a project idea please get in touch.
