We had a lovely time at the Hillside Primary School Project Launch. Although the weather was miserable – we were not! We were so happy to be a part of this project and thrilled that everyone involved really appreciates the work that’s been carried out – especially by the children. Thank you everyone!

The contractors are hoping to return to site in early September to complete the planting and snagging on site. And even more excitingly, install the wonderful sculpture which has been designed by pupils at the school, working alongside artists Sharon and Andy from Article Fine Arts. We can’t wait to see the completed feature but in the meantime, here is a taster of some of the fantastic artwork the pupils produced.

The majority of the work is completed now and is already being well used by the community.  The sculpture, designed by Article Fine Arts, working in collaboration with pupils at the school will be installed in early September, followed by the planting. A formal launch for pupils and partners will be held in late September and we’ll let you know details when everything has been confirmed.

Proffitts are excited to be working alongside staff and pupils at Hillside Primary School and the Community Projects Team at Lancashire County Council on a project to transform the extensive school grounds at the school into a wonderful asset for the school and entire community.

Proffitts are underway with tender documents for a project that will create a sensory garden and informal, natural play area within the school grounds as well as improve access across the fields. There’s a sketch design below and it is hoped that works will begin on site in June and be complete by the summer holidays (if weather permits!)
