We had a fantastic day at Preston City Mela on Saturday, meeting so many local residents and talking about play in communities across Preston.

It was wonderful to hear your ideas, experiences and aspirations for play in your local area. The conversations we had throughout the day provided valuable insights and highlighted just how important good-quality play opportunities are for children, young people and families.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat and shared their thoughts with us. Your feedback will help shape the Preston Play Strategy and ensure it reflects the needs and priorities of local communities.

If you didn’t get the chance to speak to us at the Mela, there’s still plenty of time to get involved. Our survey remains open until the end of June, and we would love to hear your views!

We’re delighted to be working alongside Preston City Council on the development of the city’s new play strategy. It’s a really exciting opportunity to help shape inclusive, engaging and high quality play opportunities for children and families across the area.

We’re looking forward to collaborating with the Council, their partners and the local community to ensure that the new strategy reflects the needs and aspirations of everyone involved. To help us do that, we’ll soon be launching an online consultation to find out what people think of the current play provision, and what changes they would most like to see.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to find out more about the project plans, then please email [email protected]
