Towneley Woods, Burnley

Work at Towneley Woods has been completed, and the site is looking gorgeous – even in the cold! The improvements were made possible thanks to the efforts of Habergham Eaves Parish Council, funding from the FCC Community Action Fund and Lancashire County Council, and the hard work of Marchbridge Builders.
Improvements to access, pathways, bridleways, signage and seating will all now make the site easier and safer for everyone to enjoy…just in time for Spring 🙂

The new year has started well at Towneley Woods…despite the rain, the team from Marchbridge Builders are back on site upgrading some of the pathways and bridleways around the site.
We’ll keep you posted on an exact finish date over the next few weeks, so do keep checking back for details.

The contractors working at Towneley Woods will be off site now until January. They were hoping to get more done this week but the piles of stones are now too frozen to spread! We’ll update you again once the stones have thawed and we get moving again in 2023!

The rain has stopped (for now) and Marchbridge Builders Ltd are making great progress at Towneley Woods this week. We’re really looking forward to visiting again over the next couple of weeks to see what else changes. Just a reminder that the site is staying open during the works so please do take care and look out for barriers if you’re visiting over the next few weeks.

Despite the torrential rain yesterday, work at Towneley Woodland has started. We’re hoping the team have better weather for the next couple of months – but we’ll give you regular updates to let you know how things are moving along 🙂

Just a reminder that improvement works in Towneley Woodland are due to begin mid November and should take 8-10 weeks to complete, weather permitting. The site will remain open for the duration of the works, but warning barriers will be installed around the working areas to advise visitors where the contractors are working on any particular day. Please do take care when using the site during this time.
We’ll keep you updated about the project here, and look forward to sharing pictures of the improvements with you in 2023!

Just a quick update to let you know that work in Towneley Woods will start mid / end November and should take approximately 3 months (weather permitting). We’ll share some pictures and updates as things progress and look forward to seeing the improvements completed in the Spring 🙂

Great news – we’ve now raised the funds needed to deliver the Towneley Woods improvements! The next step is to put the work out to tender and secure a contractor. We’re hoping to start work on site in Autumn. Thank you to everyone for their support and thank you so much to the main funder FCC Community Action Fund and Lancashire County Council. We’ll update you all again when work begins.

Just received news that we will be working in partnership with Lancashire County Council and Habergham Eaves Parish Council on a project with great potential around the Towneley Woods / Open Space – just off the A646.
The project is in its very early stages – we’ll visit the site later this week and then start the process of asking the local community, visitors and users how they would like to see it improved. We aim to have a questionnaire available for people to engage with over September and plans to view also by the end of September. The results will feed into a request for funding from one of the Landfill grant givers. Looking forward to sharing further information you all, so watch this space!
