Balsam Bash at Burrs Country Park – Can You Help?

The Friends of Burrs have organised a BIG BURY BALSAM BASH event on 24th May in Burrs Country Park. They’re looking for eager volunteers who can help them remove as much Himalayan Balsam from the park as possible – before it flowers and spreads it seeds!

They need to remove this fast growing non native invasive plant because it crowds out the native flower species which our insects need to survive. This means less for the birds to eat, and wider damage to our whole ecosystem.

The group will meet from 9.30am onwards at the Chimney and ‘Together Let’s Stop The Spread’
