Balsam Bash Every Friday at Burrs Country Park – Can You Help?

If you have an hour to spare on a Friday evening, the Friends of Burrs group are looking for volunteers to help them tackle the invasive Himalayan Balsam in Burrs Country Park.

During the summer, the group will meet every Friday at 6.30pm at the mousetrap sculpture by the chimney car park.

The group need as many hands as possible to stop the balsam spreading further – it’s already preventing several natural species growing in parts of the park, and without our natural plants the bees, insects, and birds will all struggle to thrive here.
