Construction On Site
Work has begun on site at Butterton, Staffordshire to refurbish the existing play area and install drains to the kick about area, in spite of the bad weather. It is hoped that work will be completed in time for the summer holidays to allow children to play on site when school has finished.
And following the recent tendering process for Highfield Country Park and Sam Redfern Green, contractors have been appointed for each site and work is expected to start in the next few weeks. Let’s hope the weather picks up in time to prevent the sites becoming mud baths!
The work at Broadhurst Park in Manchester is about to start next week too. This project is the creation of a mini arboretum and decorative community designed seating area within an existing sunken garden area of the park. The contractor Groundwork Landscapes Ltd from Bury will be resurfacing paths, installing new seating and surfacing, whilst artist Ann Gilligan from Green Monster arts (www.greenmonsterarts.co.uk) is working with the community to design custom seats and mosaics to form an outdoor classroom space.
