EcoFest returns to Accrington this weekend!
This Saturday 17th June in Accrington Town Square EcoFest is back! Hyndburn’s green and environmentally friendly festival is on from 10am–3.30pm with some amazing free and family friendly entertainment including:
Street circus and stilt walkers
Live music from Haslingden brass band, Blackburn ‘Festival of Light’ samba band and more
Theatre shows from the Babbling Vagabonds Theatre Company and Civic Arts Centre
Desi Nach, the UK’s leading Bollywood entertainers, with one of their award-winning dance routines
St Christopher’s School recycled fashion ‘Trashion’ show and recycled puppet show
Go Velo’s ‘Dr Bike’ with free bicycle checks and maintenance – bring your bike!
Heritage crafts, including oak swill making and marquetry
Make your own bug hotel, bird box and bike powered smoothie
Recycled art workshops with Create Yourself
Free face painting
Free henna artists
Turtle Bee plastic-free stall
Vegan food, burritos and burgers from Little Vegan
Ice creams from Mrs Dowson’s
Visit the PROSPECTS Foundation’s stand for information on local green spaces and environmental initiatives, with free giveaways and information about how people can reduce their impact on the climate and environment.
PROSPECTS Community Energy and Sharenergy will have a stall where people can find out more about the plans for a solar meadow at Coach Road in Oswaldtwistle.
Also taking part in the festival will be a host of local organisations including the Lancashire Wildlife Trust, RSPB England, Ribble Rivers Trust, Lancashire Badger Group, Woody (Hyndburn) CIC, East Lancashire Beekeepers, Greenpeace International, Cambodia Craft, Hyndburn Borough Council, Move2Change, Community Rail Network, Active Lancashire, Lancashire Adult Learning, Hyndburn Food Pantry, Super Slow Way, Cosy Homes In Lancashire and more.
