Greenmount Sidings Open Day – Saturday 7 September

The official opening of ‘Greenmount Sidings’ will take place on Saturday 7 September from 10am – 3pm. Martin Proffitt helped the group (Greenmount Village Community) in his capacity as a facilitator to secure funding from Community Spaces (a Big Lottery scheme) and Bury Council. What was once a dark and overgrown area, is now a light and well used resting place – it has made a significant improvement to the heart of the village. Weather dependant, there will be pony rides, a cycle ride, a guided walk, blacksmith demonstrations and a display of the Greenmount sidings history. The official ribbon cutting will take place at 10.30am. Pie & peas and other refreshments are also available. www.greenmountvillage.org.uk
