Redisher Wood Action Days

Following on from the first Action Day on 27th June, The Friends of Redisher Wood Local Nature Reserve will be running an additional Action Day on Sunday 18th July.  They will be hand pulling Himalayan Balsam which is an invasive plant and causes problem such as suppressing native woodland species and causing erosion.  The session will start at 1.30pm meeting at the vehicle bridge (which is at the bottom of the track leading from Redisher Lane) and will last up to 2 hours. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable to the conditions, you will be working off the footpaths and potentially in some muddy areas. All children must be accompanied by an adult.  Work gloves will be useful, but gloves can be provided along with any training required.  Any help that can be provided with this work will be greatly appreciated.
