Vote Willow to receive £50,000 funding from The People’s Millions – tune into Granada Reports tonight at 6pm to watch a short film about the project.
The Willow Garden project will offer 70 supported gardening sessions to adults with learning disabilities or mental health issues including Alzheimer’s. Beneficiaries will be able to enjoy healthy outdoor activities in a community garden including a sensory area to experience a range of pleasant smells, sounds, textures and relaxation, growing vegetables, making bird boxes, willow weaving, and watching wildlife. Activities are tailored to match a person’s skill level giving them a sense of ownership and independence.
